The word crystal comes from the Greek word "krystallos" which means ice. Rutilated Quartz is clear quartz that contains long, thin vertical striations which are known to exude dramatic displays once exposed to the sun. Rutilated quartz is found with many color tone striations. In this piece the striations are golden. In this ring I have bezel set a sweet teardrop rutilated quartz into sterling silver. This piece was completely hand fabricated. The sides of the band were treated with special files to create a soft texture. The triangular shank was hand filed to insure a comfortable fit. After completion all was oxidized black. The quartz measures 15mm x 10mm and is 5mm in depth. The ring is a size 7.25 and can be resized.
